1. Describe a memorable learning experience.
A memorable learning experience for me would be when my mom taught me about how our government system works. On our way home one day I saw all these election posters of candidates. At that moment I realized I didn't know how our government worked and/or who could vote for who. It started off asking my mom who was higher authority between the senator, the major, & the governor. Then this led to a big discussion about what each person does. This was a memorable experience because I learned something I should've already known & I bonded with my mom. We engaged into a discussion that never died out & kept catching my interests. Plus, it passed time on traffic.
2. What is your vision for the ideal school?
An ideal school would be of learning and comfort. The students would have to be able to feel comfortable and at ease. The teachers would teach more interactive/engaging lessons that catches our attention. The students are surrounded with other students who are not bad influences but good ones. From there our progression can grow as we stay on track. At the age of 14 we would be learning what 16 yr olds are scheduled to learn. We are high in academics but not to the point where it's impossible but to where we can understand.
3. What do you need to learn? How would you learn it best?
I think we need to learn how to be independent, social, & responsible. Basically, we need to learn non-academic skills. As we enter college and are on our own we need skills like independency and responsibility because teachers/professors won't be there to guide our hands in learning. They don't care as much as high school teachers do. They are leaving it up to your resposibility to pass and learn. Also, social skills are good to learn because we all need to be social to have better education and enhanced learning.

Hi Kelly,
ReplyDeleteThat was a pretty neat experience you had with your mom, learning about how our government works.
I like your idea about having students become more advanced in their knowledge and understanding...could you be more specific, though, on how your school would accomplish this? And how would your idea school teach independence and responsibility?
Assessment score: 3/2
